Hi People, I suppose this is a question asked a thousand times, being new to the group and to the FA camera, I must ask. Has anyone a copy of the camera manual I can purchase. An old fashion photocopy would be best as the idea of a two hour download, or cd rom copy scares me to death. Thanks and regards......

I just picked up an FA. I also have a Vivitar 5200 flash designed for Nikon EM/FG (switch lets you choose between each). Will this work with the FA? Thanks!

Pete - any Nikon TTL compatible flash will work just fine with the FA. Anything Nikon later than SB-16 will have features that FA will not support, however. A fine and hefty potatomasher style flash is the Metz 45 CT-4. It has two heads and a "built-in SC-17" cord to get the flash off the lens axis for that "texture improoved" light. It can be had second hand for a lot less than a genuine speedlight.

Just bought a Nikon FA and it would be great if anyone could let me know which is the best flash to use with TTL for that one. Thanks, Pete

I'm selling my Nikon FA with MD15 motor drive. I haven't seen many recently that are as nice as this one is. If anyone is interested it is on eBay; auction number 2918007092. It ends on March 23 at 7:15 PM Pacific Standard time. Thanks, Dennis

Hi!, I was surfing the net looking for information on a Nikon FA. Do you know what happens when the exposure meter does not work. I already placed new batteries, but it still does not work. Thanks for your help.

If I use ASA 800 film with my SB-15 the ready light blinks but that is not the case with my more modern speedlights like my SB-23. It is a limitation on some speedlights only?

Jim, the ASA range for TTL is 100 to 400 asa if I remember correctly. If you switch your flash over to manual you should be fine.

When I set my asa dial at 800,turn on the flash, the red flash indicater in the viewfinder blinks indicating a wrong setting. There is no change when I cover the lens. If I drop the asa dial down one click lower; it stays steady. After all these years I have never used this film speed with a flash. Why would this happen?

Michele - in the FA repair manual the ringS are refered to as "Neckstrap ring"s. They have part no. 1K100-035. Also there are plastic "Neckstrap protector"s (part no. 1K080-005). Both come in pairs.
