Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FA - Message Board/Guestbook

In many ways, the Nikon FA brought a lot of fond memories of the old days. Since it has discontinued from a fine series of manual focus SLRs brought by Nikon, you may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among yourself. You may also use this message board as a guestbook. I hope this convenience provided here can be of useful to you.

This site is specifically created for this great SLR camera from Nikon, its creator. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you. Neil: I had my FA since 1983 (20+ years) it is still working and I am still using it. To expect a 20 odd years camera to behave this way I think it has shown how well made is this model. IF there are problems, people tend to ask via a public forum - most would not ask because their camera have no problem and WHY ask ??? Not many people have developed good habit in maintenance - if this is the cause, there is nothing to fault the camera. Anyway, it should be still better than a Canon, a Minolta or the Pentax that you might be using now - most may not even survive under similar cicumstances. So, your remarks is quite extreme in the sense that I cannot agree with your remarks. Sorry, but it is a fact and it requires some bare basic intelligence to quote something like that and left this forum. Peace.

SOUNDS TO ME AS IF THE NIKON FA SLR IS ALOAD OF CRAP AFTER READING THE MESSAGES AND THE FAULTS WHICH OCCUR I WOULD"NT WANT AN FA AS A GIFT THIS MUST BE THE WORST AND MOST UNRELIABLE SLR CAMERA NIKON HAS PRODUCED. NOT GOOD FOR THE NIKON IMAGE! KEEP AWAY FROM NIKON SLRs IN FUTURE

Hello. I've just bought a DK-3 rubber eyecup and a finder eyepice for my FA. Can someone give me some hints how to attach those to my camera? I've already screwed in the the finder eyepiece, but I'm not able to attach the rubber eyecup. Thank you. Bohdan Ganicky

I have FA since 1996 and flash unit SB15 my scenario and my questions is following ; for example, my subject is far from my camera 4 meters, is there any flash setting or facilities for automatic calculating the necessary aperture value for 4 meters and apply automatically ( camera or SB15 flash unit ) or is there any way take photo with SB15 flash unit without calculate and release aperture settings manually. I mean when I attached the my SB15 on my FA ; I don't want to calculate any aperture values and apply ; I want to only set an aperture value and FA or SB15 do the best for me or I chose a SB15' s Modes A1, A2, TTL ; this modes and no need any aperture settings is it possible for FA and SB15 Best Regards Ümit Alper Tümen
