I just bought a set on ebay with a Nikon FA. The Serial Numnber is 5507825. Could anybody tell me when it was manufactured (approximately)? In addition, there was a nice 135 mm f/2.8 included in the set. Looks gorgeous like new but the diaphragm does not move when I turn the ring. Is it possible to get it fixed at a price less than the lens itself? Thanks so much in advance B.Gellie, Germany

Hello, Just a few questions about my Nikon FA. 1. I've got a motorbody but occasionally it seems to jam... it will shoot the image, then there'll be a grinding sound and wont wind the film to the next frame. Usually I have to abandon the roll and start again and it goes away but I dont want to risk losing a good roll in the future -- does anyone know whats wrong? 2. I've got a "Achiever 260AF Dedicated Autofocus" flash that I canabalized off of my grandfathers N6006 and while its certainly a great flash I cant quite get it to sync properly with the FA. On all my other cameras it seems that the flash is plug-n-play but when the FA senses the camera, it simply sets the shutter rate to 250 and refuses to budge, no matter what the light meter says or what I change the aperature too.

I have a Black FA since 1996, I like it so much, but my FA' s top cover has a crack very closest the edge of Nikon mark. I think this cover must change, I have search in repair shop in Turkey but they didn' t find service part of this cover. Repair man told me that you must find a second ( scrap ) FA body and you must use it's top cover for repair your FA . Does any body has a service part or scrap Black FA body or where can I find it
Best Regards,

To those who may be interested: The new Nikon F5 site is opened for preview now:
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/NikonF5/index.htm
The section has included some newer AF Micro-Nikkor optics at the MACRO segment (lacks good macro photos to bright up the pages, but I am talking to some for contributions). A dedicated Message Board is also provided. Enjoy.
