Does anyone know of a reason that the frame counter on my FA would not indicate advancing frames? It stays on "s" even though the film is advancing properly. Thanks.

Long time owner of FA, learning to use.
I pulled out the rewind crank by mistake,, and while replacing it... i think the screw that held it together fell into the film roll space.. i can hear it move when i shake the camera, but how do I piece it all together without going to a service shop? Pls help!!

I have a Nikno FA and would like to know more about the use of AI lens. I know all features work with the AI'S lens. I have also read reports that the progran modes don't work with AI lens. I do know that the 135mm and above with AI'S has shutter adjustments for the long focal length. I have a 35mm AI lens and would like to know if I can set the program mode and stil get the correct results. I also want a 85mm lens and don't know if I should but an Ai or pay more for an AI'S.
Thanks.

I recently upgraded from a FM2 to the FA. I also have the MD-15. I find the FA a joy to use. Of course all the FM2 accessories are interchangeable. I do find the MD-15 not having an on off switch as the MD-12 a bit puzzling. I don’t have a user manual for either. But have found lots of very informative information, mostly for the FM2. Wish I could find a user manual for the MD-15 like the one listed for the MD12.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a non AI’d 105/2.5 lens that has a spec of what I think is fungus. I don’t want to invest in having it AI’d if I can’t have it cleaned of dust and fungus.

THIS MAY SEEM TOTALLY ABSURD BUT DOES THE NIKON FA REQUIRE A FILM TO LOADED FIRST BEFORE THE SHUTTER FIRES AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AS MINE JUST PURCHASED MINT SEEMS TO ONLY FIRE AT ONE SPEED.
THANKS

Nice website. All the cameras I like are here.
I bought my Nikon Fa in 1987. I bought with a kit lens.
I still use it but not so often. I like the camera. In my opinion it is a very good SLR camera.
