You may also use this message board as a guestbook. I hope this convenience provided here can be of useful to you.

Recently acquired FA, without lens. Does anyone know if any of the two lenses I have would be suitable for use. 1. NIKKOR-H C Auto 1:2 f=50mm 2. NIKKOR-S Auto 1:1.2 f=55mm I should know this but I don't. Many thanks for the help. Jim

Could someone suggest an asking price for a new, never used, Nikon CF-30 camera case for the Nikon FA that I have. Thanks.

kassay5 - since the red LED on the MD-15 does not light the problem could stem to be the power supply of the MD-15. Try cleaning the battery contacts in the bottom of the battery chamber of the MD. Use a glass fibre pencil (available from well assorted photo shops).

It is not necesarry to remove the batteries of the FA in order to use the MD-15.

Best regards,

Thanks for the great 'alternative instruction manual' on you site. Now I have my first Nikon body and a lot of extra information re lenses, flash units, motor drives etc I can make some sensible decisions on building my Nikon kit. I now realise it is a more sophisticated body than I thought when I purchased it, and I can read and digest all the information in managable chunks. The enthusiasm of the writer gives me a buzz with his/her irreverent touches of humour. Thanks for brightening my wee small hours on the Net.
Cheers to all, Louise

recently purchased a md15 motor drive for FA. Despite new batteries unit has no power (won't operate the LCD camera display nor will it advance the film). Red LED lit on back does not lite either. I have not removed the FA batteries-should this be done to activate the motor drive?

Problem One: My FA's mirror will lock randomly. In order to unlock the mirror I can set the self timer or wait an unspecified amount of time. I have sent it into Nikon twice and they have been unable to remedy this. Problem Two: My MD-15 is also acting up in that it will no longer advance the film automatically or shoot at the C-Continuous setting. I must shoot at the S-Single setting and advance the film by manually advancing the film advance lever. It functioned properly when I first purchased it. Question: Are there reasons for these problems? I am assuming that there must be an "electronic" issue with my camera and wonder if the person that I purchased it from a year ago may have dropped it in the river while canoeing. If you can be of any help it would be much appreciated.
