first i'd like to complement you on this wonderful page and hope u can help me with my problem. i own a nikon FA and recently it sometimes gives shutterspeeds of its own alot faster than the ones set. i adjust it for 1/4second exposure for example and it just click with much faster shutter speeds resulting in totally underexposed shots. same with automatic modes it just shoots with that fast speed even if the display tells me it's supposed to be shooting slow. u can imagine shooting at night without flash with A mode (apperature preference) and it just goes "titik" i noticed the frequency of this error is much less while using motordrive but only in manual mode. i use a tokina AT-X 35-200mm lens, so maybe it's not that compatible?? but i've been using it forever and it used to work just fine. so i'm out of ideas. help me out

My FA (Body #5123603) is jammed shut, pushing the lever clockwise and attempting to lift rewind brings no result. No dropping or abuse of camera. Would anyone have any idea how to get the body open so I can use the camera again?

Hi. I often ride my motorcycle with my Nikon FA and noticed that the two precision screws on the rangefinder in the back and top of the camera have vibrated loose. The screw on the side is still there and it will fit the same holes. Does anyone know the size or place where I can find these screws? Thanks.

No. the screens can be SHARED among Nikon FM2(n) + other FM series EXCEPT FM & FM10, FE Series (EXCEPT FE10), Nikon FM3A and Nikon FA only. This is a thin platic, the Nikon F2 has a etal frame, size and dimension won't fit. Compare them at these two pages:-

Hi, I'm currently debating whether to get an FA or an FM2n. It seems like the FA can do everything that the FM2n can because it can be fully manual in the M mode, but that it also has additional capabilities. Am I missing something here? It seems like the only thing that the FM2n has on the FA is the fact that it doesn't require a battery. Has the FA's battery been known to malfunction in certain conditions? Are there things the FM2n can do that the FA can't? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
