Everytime when I see someone mentioning the XD-7, it was just being referred as the world's first multimode SLR while information on the great XK camera was so scarce that as if Minolta wants to shy away from others. Although I understand these two were great cameras of yesteryears but I don't totally write off them as a perfect used entry cameras. Hello. My parents gave my wife and me their Minolta X-700 when they were cleaning out their closets a few days ago. They stopped using it because all of a sudden the film advance lever gotten stuck. The window that tells you how many pictures you have left is on “S” and the lever won’t move. They told me they only used it a handful of times so I have no idea what it could be. I’ve been reading on some cameras and heard there is a locking mechanism but I don’t see one. Any help would be very appreciative.

I have a few questions on the Minolta XK. 1st I can bearly see the shutter speeds in the viewfinder. I can sort of see a needle move. Nothing works on auto. The mirror locks up. Also what is the lever? right under the shutter speed dial. Sometimes when I press the meter activator, I see a red led light. Thank you for your answers. Craig4. Hello! I have an old Minolta XD-11 and am wondering if I can use Nikon lenses (specifically the older Nikkor lenses) on this camera? Excuse my ignorance--I'm an amateur. I would appreciate any help on this! Thanks in advance! ~~Linda5. From : Gautier-Henri (blaireaude@yahoo.de)

Hello Laura, The Minolta XG-1 opens like virtually all other 35mm single-lens-reflexes - just pull up the knob with the rewind crank. Please let me know how you make out. Yours, Gautier-Henri6. From : Laura (Pnkytrtl02@aol.com)

I had a Minolta XD-11 passed on to me from my grandfather that I've been using for a couple of years. Unfortunately it was stolen from my house a few days ago. I need my insurance to replace it with a modern equivalent, but I'm not really sure what that would be. Any suggestions?8. From : becky (loudermr@tr.k12.in.us)

Hey, I have a Minolta XG1. It seems to be stuck. The film advance lever will not turn and the shutter release button does not respond. There is no film in it and it is turned on(Sounds stupid but people have told me to simply turn it on and it will work, but it doesn't.) Any suggestions? Thanks, Becky9. Hi there, I've just came into the posession of a Minolta XD7. I don't have a flash and I just wanted to know which ones you would recommend. The kind of work that I will be doing will involve taking shots in the city at night. Many thanks, Gareth
