Everytime when I see someone mentioning the XD-7, it was just being referred as the world's first multimode SLR while information on the great XK camera was so scarce that as if Minolta wants to shy away from others. I am wondering about the compatibility of the X-700 lenses with the Sony A-100 body A-mount. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable? No way I'll ever get rid if the 700, but if I can save some bucks by just going with the A-100 body, that would be outstanding!!

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Thanks very much for the insight. I thought Maxxum and Sony A100 marriage would probably work okay!

I believe this will help Dorothy, also!

James

To James Parrish and anyone else wondering about the compatability of their Minolta auto-focus lenses and the new Sony digital camera(s).

I have several Minolta auto-focus cameras and lenses and, so far, all of the lenses I've tried seem to work well with my new Sony A100 digital camera. The mount is the same, and they seem to respond well to the new camera. I have not tried all of my lenses with the Sony yet, but so far so good!

Aloha! - Mike

Hi Folks!

I am interested in buying a new hi-quality SLR digital camera. I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 SLR. It appears that I may be able to buy just a SONY SLR digital body and use the 35-70mm Minolta AF lens I alreary have... not to mention filters, etc.

Anyone have any history or thoughts on this? Comments would be appreciated!

James

I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 & all the lenses, accessories, etc. Is there a digital camera that would be compatible with my equipment? Should I try and sell all this equipment and swap it out for a high-end digital? What do I do with all this equipment if the film format is going away? Answers please...thank you!

Denise;
CRC Contact Cleaner 2000 and some paper towel , spray cleaner onto towel and wipe down contacts, you may need some light 220 sand paper gently wipe contact area. I have not seen mine yet but if there is a coil spring its a hard surface to work on as a CET ( Certified Electronics Tech. ) thats the worst area to clean. then try installing new batteries, I reccomend Everready e2 Lithium

Carbon zinc leaks, so does HD batteries and also FYI the reccomended is either a Photo or Lithium-Alkaline. as a sugguestion for long storage remove batteries you are running a circuit no matter what like the data stored is held in there.

worst case scenario buy a dead or parts camera but check the contacts Before buying, In my other hobby if you buy an identical model and close Serial No. chances are you can swap parts for repair if you are knowledgeable in what you are doing.

Otherwise you may own a parts camera.

Hello all. This is for those looking for manuals for the 7000, and 7000i. http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/film-cameras/film_af_slr/index.html

It's free and clear. Not sure how long they'll keep up though.

Enjoy!
