Everytime when I see someone mentioning the XD-7, it was just being referred as the world's first multimode SLR while information on the great XK camera was so scarce that as if Minolta wants to shy away from others. Although I understand these two were great cameras of yesteryears but I don't totally write off them as a perfect used entry cameras. I have a Minolta X-1 which I bought new in 1979 in Hong Kong. Unfortunatley it has a dent in the finder top cover and I am therfore looking for an AE finder or replacement top cover. Can anyone help?6. From : Graeme (graemek@colourlessgreen.fsnet.co.uk)

Just to say that I bought an XD5 in '79 (HK) which spent the next 20+ years in a rucsac, climbing in Scotland, touring Botswana in a landrover, etc. Got a bit unreliable towards the end (e-shutter release) so bought a replacement - a second hand (but new condition) XD7. Superb cameras - never had a situation they couldn't cope with. (Even in very cold conditions wearing gloves) :-) G7. From : J. Bailey (JA_B3@msn.com)

Bought my XD-11 new---many moons ago and still enjoy its capabilities today. A Great work horse, although w/ the recent purchase of a digital camera, may religate it to the camera bag to be taken out for nostalgic reminscing. My reason for posting is the individuals hunting manuels, lens & parts...just perused eBay---there are plenty. Appears to be enough for any needs and going at reasonable if not Cheap prices.8. Hi, I need a take up spool for my Minolta XD-5 which is the same as my XD-11. Can anyone tell me where to get one and where I can get a manual on how to install it. I've had the XD-11 since 1979, and I just bought my daughter the XD-5 so she can follow in my footsteps Thank you, Tom
