Dear Friends, What a great site - Have just inherited an XM which works well on metered manual, but auto does not seem to work. It is a lovely camera and I would like to get it fully functioning. I am in Bristol in the uk. Have a physical disability so can't travel too far. Are there any people who still repair these in the uk? Thanks for help, John

I have an XD7 which has ceased to work. A new battery lasts less than 24 hours (excessive current drain). With a new battery in it seems to function OK i.e. the shutter works and all the led's work, but there is no exposure and the film comes out blank. Where can I get it checked out for a reasonable price? My local camera shop is quoting £80 just to look at it!!! Mike Dearden

I am looking for an eye level viewfinder for an XM, preferably the AES automatic exposure version, but, failing that, the plain finder will do. Has anybody got one for sale. I am in London

My XD11 shutter release button does not work properly, if I do not use the camera for a few days the shutter release button has to be pressed about eight to ten times before it will release. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, what is the fix for it. Minolta will not look at my camera, they do not have any parts for this model.
If someone could help me out with this problem, I would be most greatfull.

Derek.

Hi everyone, Like others on this forum, I have a XD-11 that I want to be repaired but my repair shop can't get his hands on the part I need. They say that the photoelectric cell (light meter I guess) needs to be replaced and that it was designed specifically for that particular camera. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Problem with light-meter. Nice site by the way!! I am considering(?) for weeks to sell my XD7 and buy a Dynax5. But when I see all this on this site I start to feel a barbarian. The reason for me to consider the switch is not that the XD7 is a piece of shit, NOT AT ALL, but since I bought it 6 years ago it has a strange behavior. Sometimes when I want to take a picture, the camera tells me that there is to much light, even in the dark. It looks like the light-meter is stuck (mostly when I just changed lenses). The remedy is to take a picture (or 2,3,.., 24) or when I "softly hit" the bottom of the camera on my flat handpalm. I send it several times for reperation, but nobody knows what it is. Should I sell the camera and be a bastard or is this failure repairable (another electonic part for example)? Eddie.
