Everytime when I see someone mentioning the XD-7, it was just being referred as the world's first multimode SLR while information on the great XK camera was so scarce that as if Minolta wants to shy away from others. Although I understand these two were great cameras of yesteryears but I don't totally write off them as a perfect used entry cameras. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. You may also use this message board as a guestbook for this great camera and its system. I was pondering no the things of life as one does and although I love my XD7 I am thinking I need to move on into the new century by upgrading my equipment to digital. Then I was trying to figure out how long I had my camera but with having moved three times in twenty or so years and survived the ravages of children followed by a divorce the old manual and paperwork is no longer available so for now I just wanted to know the manufacturing dates for the XD7. I have a Minolta XK Motor with some electronic problems and i am looking for a a second one for parts or i would part out mine to build one complete working XK Motor I bought mine in 1980 at JC Penny for a $1078 dollars and and have used it for Weddings and sports photograpy. I just came across this site and want to commend you for the time and effort you put into it. These are indeed classic Minolta cameras and are way under-appreciated. It is good to see a few of us use, remember and collect them for their beauty and rugged function. I have made many dollars with the XK and XDs over the years as a photographer.
