Everytime when I see someone mentioning the XD-7, it was just being referred as the world's first multimode SLR while information on the great XK camera was so scarce that as if Minolta wants to shy away from others. Although I understand these two were great cameras of yesteryears but I don't totally write off them as a perfect used entry cameras. I have an XD-11 and think it's the best 35mm I ever have handled. I'm shooting with a 28/2.8, 35-70/3.5, 50/1.4, 50-135/3.5, 135/2.8 and 200/2.8. I have used this camera professionally and never had a single problem. When the sad day arrives that it goes to that great camera bag in the sky, I will end up buying Nikon. Minolta went the way of the point and shoot trashy camera and left us loyal Minolta XD and XK professionals hanging. So when mine dies, I'll finally abandon them................2. A number of years ago I purchased the SRT parts from Minolta. I am now selling them off individually or in bulk. I DO NOT have cases or accessories but do have most parts and top covers. Please contact me if you are interested in anything. They will only be available through the end of October ELSA5. From : John Steinbach (jsteinb@inwi.net)

Hi! 9 October, 2002 I've recently purchased a pre-loved Minolta XD7 and feel confident using it, after putting 9 rolls of 36 exp film through it, with absolutely fantastic results in all modes (M, A, & S).Being really curious, I cannot figure out the use of the "O" setting on the shutter speed dial. I've used the "x" sync setting and with a (non-Minolta) flash unit found perfect exposures also. The flash unit decides to switch itself off when it senses the correct amount of flash has been sent off. The XD7 is a real hoot after twenty years of using my basic SRT101b. So, two questions: 1. The use of the "O" setting, and 2: When was the XD7 first released onthe market? Many thanks, Juri

I have a XD7 and the self-timer doesn't work recently. After I push the lever and press the shutter button, the lever doesn't go back to the original position. Does anyone have any similar problems and suggestions? Thanks in advance.9. From : Miguel Rodriguez (mxrp@lycos.co.uk)

Hi, I own a minolta xd-7 that has a little problem: the film loader(the place where you insert the beggining of the film) is made of plastic and two of the 'blades' are already gone. I was thinking of buying a second xd-7/11 for parts but anyoned knows any other minolta model that would have the same kind of film loader? Sometimes I see camera bodies for parts on auction but I haven't seen any xd-7 yet. Thanks. Excellent site! Miguel10.
