Hello- My question is simple... Is it worth going out and buying one of these older XD-based or even an X-700 cameras? When I was young and in high school, I used an SRT-100, and loved Minolta. The XK and X-700 were my dream cameras. Unfortunately, my interest waned when my camera broke while I was in college, and lack of funds kept me from buying a new camera, and somebody bought me a Pentax when I graduated, so I left the Minolta world. However, I still love these old cameras, so I repeat... Is it worth the money to invest in this older stuff? You can reply here, or privately. Thanks. :-)

My dad has a Minolta XM with a faulty auto, and a SRT303 that he hasn't repaired. I would really appreciate finding someone in Australia that could repair these cameras. Please Email me with any suggestions.

There's no functional difference between the xd7/11 and XD5.
The XD7 and XD11 are identical twins.
The XD5 lacks the safe load indicator and aperture display in the viewfinder.

Otherwise they are the same. Same mechanical construction, same electronics and identical looks.

I was just given a bunch of old cameras and ALL kinds of accessories. There are lots of lenses and cleaning papers, motors, old movie camera, electtric flashes, chargers, Soft Light/Bounce Difuser kits, etc. I know absolutely nothing about cameras. I am trying to educate myself on them and particualrly these so that I may sell them at a reasonable price. I have the manuals for all of them and much more extras that are all foreign to me. Totalling 2 boxes and 1 leather photographer's bag. The models of these cameras are:

Minolta XK Minolta Auto Electroflash 200X Minolta XG-7 Minolta SLR Minolta Auto Winder G Minota Electroflash 132 PX Minolta Duo-Sync Cord (The cord with a brain) Minolta X-700 Yashica atoron Ultra Miniature Camera Cartridge Load (2) Sigma Zoom 28-85mm F 3.5-4.5 Vivitar 283 Electronic Flash Vivitar Charge 15 Vivtar Variable Angle Lens Kit Vivitar Soft Light/Bounce Difuser Kit John Hedgecoe's Pocket Guide to Practical Photography The Professional Photographer's Handbook (First Edition)

Everything has it's own bag or leather holder. It is well kept and I am told that it works still. I haven't figured out how to put it all together being that there are many cameras. I am intrigued. If you would please e-mail me at my e-mail address and let me know if you can give me any advice I would greatly appreciate it. (Michelle_Magoon@usc.salvationarmy.org) Thanks!

Hello, I've owned an XD-11 for years, but have worn it out. The interior felt/lining is coming apart....lots of particles show up everywhere. Does anyone have a reconditioned XD-11 body that they would like to sell? Also, is there a later model Minolta that will accept the XD-11 style bayonet lenses. I have quite a few lenses, and want to continue to use them. Thx and regards, Skip
