Everytime when I see someone mentioning the XD-7, it was just being referred as the world's first multimode SLR while information on the great XK camera was so scarce that as if Minolta wants to shy away from others. Although I understand these two were great cameras of yesteryears but I don't totally write off them as a perfect used entry cameras. I am in need of a detailed description on how to re-assemble the film speed dial on top od Minolta X1 prizm. A picture of the parts would be very helpful as the dial has been off this unused beautiful camera since 1984 and though I believe I have all of the parts, I can't be sure. Every time I try to put it together, it turns out loose and lopsided. HELP! - Ron Feilen 3. From : henry gzik (mynuesole@yahoo.com)

I recently bought a spotless XD-s with a problem. In any mode other than O B or X the shutter stays open for perhaps a second or two before it closes and the mirror returns. The batteries are the correct ones and are brand new. The battery compartment is clean.
The viewfinder shows only one LED. A red arrow at the bottom, pointing down. With the camera set to M, shutter speeds work fine but there is still only that single red arrow in the viewfinder.
With the camera set to O, LED's race up to the top and a red "up" arrow stays lit at the top of the scale.
What's up ?
Thanks6. From : Alan (JapPtcGa@hotmail.com)

Dear Sir, I just wanted to express my sincere THANKS A MILLION for running this site. I just bought a used Minolta XD-11 (same as XD-7) from a local donation-thrift store. It needs a routine cleaning, but I think it still runs. I used your site to pull down a copy of the User Manual, Tech Specs, and your informative article. I think these will tell me all I need to know. THANK YOU for making this manual available on WWW. Thank yo for your gracious generosity in sharing this info with the camera world.Best regards, from camera user, in Atlanta GA USA.7. From : Lee White (lemel@mac.com)

I have a XD11 and a XE 5 with a variety of lens. I also have a olympus E-510 digital SLR with the 4/3rds lens system. I would like to find a adapter (one for each camera) that would allow me to use these lens on my Olympus E-510. I undertand that the auto focus would not work however that does not bother me. Any Idea's?8. From : John (slruser9@gmail.com)

Could a Minolta XK/XM/X1 owner please confirm if the light shield that the mirror contacts upon release, is loose and moves, or is fixed. This piece is seen at the front top of the mirror box with the lens removed. On my camera, this piece moves up when the mirror comes up, and slides down a bit when the mirror comes down. Is this what is supposed to happen, or is this piece loose on my camera?9. From : John Kirkham (kirkhams@oldrectoryta4.wanadoo.co.uk)

I have a slight problem with my otherwise perfect XD7.... I've lost the self-timer lever - guess the screw came loose ... Has any kind person out there possibly got a lever and retaining screw they'd let me have...? Many thanks10.
