I have just started to use my old F2SB again after having it serviced, and wonder what electronic flash units other people use? I have a modern day Nikon SB-800 and SB-900 flash units for my D3S but both are restrictive in comparison to the old computerised Braun unit I used with the F2 years ago (now defunct)but this was good for bounce and fill flash, all controlled very well by the thyristor circuitry.

Any advice much appreciated

John

I had an MD-1 that was the early version woithout the lockout button beside the rewind lever. I lost a lot of pictures due to the lock lever catching on something and rewond my film and in a noisy place I never heard it.
On the latter models they put the lockout button on the back to prevent this from happening.
Learning from the misstakes of others .

I am selling all my pro gear and while trying to determine a fair price for a Nikon F2 with a dp2 prism, I discovered that the serial number of this camera appears to be very early. The camera was in use professionally for 35 years before I put it away, so it's not perfect but it was mostly a copy camera so it's not too bad. I am wondering if the low number should be considered when setting a price.

The serial number is 7100075

Thanks for any help.

Greg

Hi Miles,

This camera and finder were used with Nikon slit lamps for examining eye balls. It's quite uncommon.

Regards,

Sover

New to this board, so hi everyone!

Anyways, I was on Ebay and came across this in the completed listings:

Sold for $416 I think. I lost the link to the original auction. Other than the finder, it also has a sticker on the rewind knob. The auction description did not shed any light on its origin, other than that it was bought as surplus.

Can anyone here shed some light on this? Or are we likely looking at someone's one-off creation?

Thanks!

Hello
I've a question about a F2SB (DP-3 finder) and a DS-1 attachment. Can they work together? I think that DS-11 works with both F2S (DP-2 finder) and F2SB(DP-3 finder). What about my DS-1? Can I mount it on my F2SB without damage?
Another question :can I use AI modified, AI and AIS lenses with the upper combination, or only pre-AI ones?
Thanks a lot for your wonderful site
Chris
