Nikon F2 Series Professional SLR camera Models

Can anybody help me? The advance lever of my f2 does not stick in the 20 or 30 degree position necessary to activate the Photomic head. The head receives constantly voltage and the meter contacts under the bottom cover are closed.

My dad has some old F2 series lenses. I wonder if they are compatible with any new Nikon Cameras? especially the digital ones. If anyone could answer my question, I greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
