Inga, the best place in Florida to get your F2 fixed is at Fotocamera Repair
in Lake Worth, Florida. Call the owner, Pete Smith at 561-433-8434. He is a Nikon repair specialist. If thats too far to drive, it can be done by mail, but the trip might be worth your while. He has a very interesting shop, filled with Nikon goodies-----Jerry

Lovely website and probably the best source for Nikon web content. I used to own a Nikon F2Afor a brief spell but found it too complicated to use (huh ?) and bought a FM2 after I disposed it off cheaply. Well. those day, when you were young, you may not know how to appreciate good stuffs. After reading all these articles, I might get a unit for collection purposes.

Can anyone tell me whether any other manual camera apart from the F2 had stepless shutter speeds.I think this is a superb feature which allows extremely accorate exposures to be set by the operator and not some PC/IC.
I think the F2 was the best Manual camera ever made bar none and I am now using it far more often than my F4 which has become more of a point and shoot.I think the extra time I take thinking about composition and exposure with the F2 gives me better pictures which is what it's all about at the end of the day. This combined with the shear quality of the engineering makes this camera the tops and I would highly recommend it to anyone taking up the hobby seriously.

peter, at the main page, all the links to F2, F2AS, F2A etc.. is actually leading you to the manual section but all of them are in HTML style, where you have to print them into pages or save them in your hardisk to read. According to what I found out after reading - there is only a copy of F2AS available in pdf format, but only via an email request.

In response to Sam (No 14) you can try a shop in an arcade next to the Miramar Hotel in Kowloon who have a huge stock of Mechanical cameras and spares.I often go there when I'm back in HK.
Can enyone help me the screen on my F2 appears frosty with smaller apertured lenses is there any way to solve this as it doesn't occur on my F4 with the newer screens.(I bought a beattie,s screen but this has a shadow around the edge and is worse than the original
Peter

Oh, by the way. Make sure you don't own a G-series Nikkor lens, I have just read about them at other Message Board here in this malaysian site that they have no sperture ring (Joke ?) on the lens. Why would Nikon want to confuse people like that ? Although I think it still be be mounted onto an old camera like mine which has the same F-mount, but there is no way you can change aperture, got it ? Bye.

Vickie, I am afraid what leonard said it right. I have just mounted my AF-D Nikkor 16mm fisheye and a AF-D 24-120mm Zoom Nikkor next to me onto a non-AI Nikon F2S, it works fine, I can stop the lens down to any aperture I wanted to and the shutter release is working fine as well. The lens mates with the lens mount of the oldie like a perfect match !
