Hi Afzal, this website has an excellent section on F2 focussing screens. The grid screen (E) has become a permanent fixture in my F2. At first, it does take a bit of getting used to focussing without any aids, but now I can't go back -- I find the center focussing aid on the standard K screen gets in the way more than it helps. As an alternative, there is also the B screen, which is very similar but has no grid (you could always use the edges of the finder if you needed a horizontal or vertical reference). I don't know if you can find any F2 screens new anymore since they've been out of production for several years. Used, the B screen might be a bit easier to find, as the E screen seems to have attracted quite a following.2. From : Afzal Ansary (afzalansary@aol.com)

How many different types of screens are there for Nikon F2? I am particularly interested in the one with grid inside it. Is this one easy to focus on? Or which one is the easiest and quickest to focus? Thank you AA3. From : Francine (francineclee@hotmail.com)

Hi all I have a F2 Photomic but the back plate is unable to close properly as there's damage to the latch mechanism at the left side of the body. See: http://www.condottiero.com/damage.jpg I'd like to repair this myself but would benefit from instructions, diagrams etc. Are these accessible anywhere on the web? Many thanks!5. Hi Joe and Abel, No power to the F2 head is caused by corrosion on the internal battery tag. This is repairable, but the entire front assembly has to be removed. Depending on the problem, a jammed F2 can be unjammed by resetting the base or internal mechanisms. See me F2 repair web site for more detals. Regards, Sover7. I have an F2 with DP-1 prism. I had assumed the meter was broken but now I suspect that it just isn't getting power. With good batteries and the prism removed there is no voltage between the two posts on either side of the ground glass. This is with the winding lever pulled back. I checked and there is continuity between the positive contact in the battery chamber and the post nearest the shutter speed dial. There is none between the negative contact and the other post nearest the rewind knob. Am I correct in assuming this is the problem? (I haven't figued out how to rig the DP-1 up to 3v to see if it works by itself.) Is this a common problem and does anyone know of an easy fix?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

hi , I have an F2 photomic with a nikkor 1:2 lens I want to sell - I love this camera but as a have only used it twice since i inherited it from my grandfather i think i should sell it to someone who will use it to its full potential. How much is it worth I've been quoted about $300us and was wondering if that sounds accurate.10. Hello, I came across a camera I know nothing about, and I was hoping to get some help. I may want to buy it but don't know what it is worth, it is a Nikon f2-s Photomic, comes with Nikkor 50mm/1.4 and a Kiron 28-85/2.8-3.8 one touch zoom, w/case. any ideas as to what this would be worth, it seems to be in very good condition, a little dust, Thanks for any info.
