Hi everybody! I have been doing a lot of research between a F2AS and a F3HP and have decided to go with the F2AS. My father has one in immaculate condition, no scratches, dents, or brassing, in all black with a 50/1.4 in the same type of condition. He wants an F5. I want the camera badly but don't want to insult him on price. Does anybody out there know what price this would fetch so I can make him a similar offer? Thanks, Jon2. Hi Nikonholics!! Well just returned from one month journey to Centralamerica with wonderfull experiences and very beautifull sceneries and places!meeting lots of people and types.... guess what i shot it with?? my old F2( unfortunately my FE2 (and another EM) broked on this trip, due to a heavy heavy fall) the F2 survived the hard work while others would give up! from very humide condition to dusty areas and places i am still impressed how strong this camera is...!! wow! ! the only problem i got with it is the...weight..but maybe its one of the reasons why it didnt broke the fall! so its life ,it is a very durable camera ! still going strong ! Kind regards, Christian Maldonado Fisker.4. From : Peter (eirinn111@yahoo.de)

Hello everyone, I just bought an F2 and have a question for the other F2 owners out there. At the top edge of the reflex mirror is a black metal tab that holds the mirror in place. On my camera, the tab is visible through the viewfinder as a dark shadow at the bottom of the screen, just above the aperture readout (DP-1 prism, standard split-image screen). It is visible whether a lens is mounted or not. Is this normal for an F2? Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
Otherwise, this seems to be a really well-built camera. The shadow itself is not a big deal, but I'm wondering if it's because something is out of alignment.6. From : Damon Bullock (Brooksbullock@yahoo.com)

I recently came across a Nikon Yellow compartment trunk and can't find any information about it anywhere. It's the same as the jpeg photo file on the cases page but no info about it there. I'm wondering what camera it was issued for? Is there a code number associated with it? How much it might cost? If anyone can help I would be greatful. Sincerely, Damon Bullock7. I'd appreciate advise on a Nikon F2A I've just obtained. I've no
experience with this model before.
1. My problem is that I can only see half of the aperture number through the DP-11, i.e. like the window is not set directly on top of the apeture number on the lens. Is there something wrong with my DP-11 or is the window positioning not meant for my lens? FYI, I'm using a Series E 50mm/f1.8 and and AF 35-70mm lens.
2. Do I need to use stop down with my lens (Series E 50mm and AF 35- 70mm) or can I use the meter's coupling lever?
3. The plastic nameplate of my DP-11 has broken off completely at the left corner. It is completely not intacted to the other protion of the plate (which is screwd onto the side of DP11 unit) - I can simply pull out this end of the nameplate. How do
I fix this? Glue? Tape? Any spares? (FYI: The right corner is still connected)

My apologies - in my previous posting that should be a DP-2 finder NOT a DP-12 finder.
Thanks again!

Hello!
If I may, a quick question(s) pertaining to non AI lenses used with an F2S Photomic. I have looked through the site (it is excellent)but do not have a clear understanding of proper metering with these lenses. In order to meter proper exposure, is it necessary to first stop down to obtain the proper reading or does the DP-12 meter work on non AI lenses in the same manner as AI lenses? If stop down metering is required, does one have to keep the stop down button depressed while releasing the shutter?
Thank you for your assistance!
