Hi!
I am from Hong Kong. I am now using my Dad's F2SB Photomic!
I really love this mannual control system. Before that, I was using F80S but I found F2 could help me to learn more.
However, my DP-3 meter does not work properly. One of my experienced friends told me to adjust the ASA to about 80 when using ISO 100 film....U_U.
Although, I still love.
By the way, does anyone know where I can buy a new meter or repairmy existing one?
Thank YOU!

From the writeup (may I compliment you this is easily the best site I came across relating information on Nikon) you mentioned that the F2 high speed has a fixed mirror, if it changes to a Mtered finder such as DP-11 or DP-12, how do they meter ? Thanks.

**Dennis**: Nikon F2 (camera body with a eye-level finder) is METERLESS. TTL Metering in any F2 bodies is only possible via a metered prism. Your F2 can transform into a metered F2 by just attaching any metered finder (DP-2, DP-3, DP11, DP12) onto it. Make no mistake, with a basic F2 (with eye level finder) you can mount any F-mount lens onto it and use it but there is no metering guide provided. With a metered prism, you can mount any non-AI or AI lens to get metering shown inside and outside the prism. When you intend to use a non-AI lens onto the DP-11 and DP-12, you can only use stopped down metering. Hope it helps.

The f2 is a non AI body and so third party AI lens will not be able to meter on the f2. Is there anything I can do to change the F2 into a AI body that allow the use of third party lenses and most importantly, to be able to meter with it. Except using the Stop-Down exposure method. Can anybody clear my doubts? Thanks a lot.

dennis.

Mr Don: Someone published this at the Nikon F3 board: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf3ver2/htmls/batteries.htm this is quite useful for cross reference. You can check almost all Nikon modesls there. By the way, does anyone know anywhere in Argentina that repairs older classic such as Nikon F and Nikon F2, I mean reliable and good technician ?

What can I say ? This site is absolutely marvellous by any standard !!! Shame on Nikon because it takes an outsider to show them what to aim for and how to create a resource site on the Net ! - FR -
