Hi, I recently bought an "untested" MD-3 on eBay. When I plugged in a battery pack, the motor drive made an awful noise. I slowly starting dismantling the MD-3 and when I removed the tripod socket out from the now exposed hole came parts of the plastic gear on the motor shaft. Now that I have done a bit more research, I have read numerous comments on the Internet about how notorious these plastic gears in MD-3 (and MD-2 I believe) motor drives are for splitting and cracking. Unfortunately, I have not read of anyone who has a fix for this problem.

I am wondering if anyone here is aware of a repair or replacement for these plastic gears. I imagine that a replacement plastic gear would be wonderful, and a replacement metal gear would be even better! Do these exist? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Danny

I want to buy a black F2 eyelevel which is in good condition (near mint), has a textured paint finish like a F2T and a serial number of 72xxxxx. This camera is offered as normal F2 and not as F2T. I guess this is correct because a camera which such a serial number cannot be a titan version.

Now my question: Was there any time period within the long production period of the normal F2 in which this camera was produced originally with black textured paint finish like a F2T or was the above mentioned camera repainted later? Is this perhaps repainted version worth to be collected?

For those searching for a rubber eyecup for the F2. The one you need is Nikon DK-4. Search ebay and you should be able to find one ~15$US

I have inherited a Nikon F2 Photomic A from my father recently and I have done a lot of research on it. After a few failed attempts i have finally taken control over the numerous manual controls and taken a few rolls of film with this magnificent camera. I have been reading posts in this site regarding the F2 camera, and i have been wonder why the Nikon F2AS is so popular (a lot of people are asking for this model) as oppose to other F2 models like mine?

Also, i would like to know whether it would be hard to find a shutter wire adapter for the F2A shutte release, due to the fact that there is not a hole in the shutter release to insert a shutter wire. The serial number for my F2 Photomic A is 8054140 and i was wondering if i can get more information on this camera. Thanks

Saludos y gracias. José

I'm looking around for a F2AS, or something close to that. First of all, I have no idea where to find used cameras in Tucson Arizona. Are there any camera shows that come around here, and if so, does anybody know when? Second, I don't know how much one in good condition costs. Any information would be very helpful, thanks.

I'm looking for a MOTOR DRIVE FOR A NIKON F2 AS CAMERA. I don't think Nikon makes them anymore, does anyone know where I could get a used one?

I am looking for a repair shop for the Nikon MD-2 motor drive. It seems it does not advance when it is in the continuous mode. When you move the mode selector knob, the motor drive will advance. Could it be out of synch, or is there something wrong with the motor itself?

I have a F2S and a 4004S, but not sure about lense compatibility. What is difference in F mount and T mount? I recently bought a "F Mount" lense (70-300mm) only to find it doesn't have the rabbit ears to communicate with my F2S. How do you tell an AI from non-AI lense? Thanks. fllclu
