i would like to source assembly/repair procedures and diagrams for repair of Nikon MD3 motor drive. Mine works intermittently. It advances the film but occaisionally trips the shutter. I dropped it --- oops! I have the main subassemblies out of the case. it does not look too difficult to service if I had the diagrams. I think something must be out of alignment. can anyone help? A pdf file would be great! thanks!

I was recently given an F2 that my grandfather purchased in Japan in the 70's, it takes fantastic photos and I want to have it looked at and learn the basics. I live in Los Angeles, any recomendation and or sites I can visit. Thank You Jaime Cuevas

i have f2 photomic, ser# 7286511 that has given great service for 17 years. the only problem i have had is when i try to use self-timer. recently, i activated self-timer, released shutter with button near self-timer, and shutter fired. since then i cannot get the shutter to fire with the normal shutter button. any ideas would be appreciated. if i don't get this fixed, i'll have to use my n-70!

Help me please!!! can anyone tell me,how can i judge whether my F2 Dp-1 meter is jumpy? at what shutter speed ? how shall i test it? i have tried all the way down to one second and it is as if it gets difficult to get the arrow stand still, when i get to this point. On the other hand theres no jumps in the higher range say 1/100,1/250,1/500 and so on,strange though. can anyone help me ?

On the back of old Rolleicord and -flexes there were such table. Of course not so accurate but it work even with chrome films, at least with some alternative exposures. You can buy an old hand-held light meter for 20-30 dollars in any used-camera store. The sunny 16 rule only works when it is sunny logically. Hope it helped a bit.

Tried searching the site, but couldn't find this info, so here goes: Is there a simple rule of thumb to decide what shutter speed and aperature to use when you don't have a light meter? Let's say I'm looking to buy an F2, and it has a DE-1, am I correct in assuming this has no light meter? How do you decide your settings? Here's a quote from the site ".. now, let's see, it's sunny-16, and right now it's patchily cloudy.." So I'm guessing there's a formula to follow? Can anyone clue me in? Thanks so much, from a novice, Chris

Hi Christian: I do have the MD-2, MB-1 setup for nikon F2. MB-1 uses 10 AA Batteries, MD-2 will advance film in single or continue mode (4fps). The MD-4 for F3 simplified the design and combine the battery chamber with the motors, but you still can see the similarities there. The combination is very heavy. It is in my camera collections. If I go out shooting, I will just take the F2 body. You can view the picture in my home page...cameranuts
