Dear all, I have a question I'd appreciate if you could answer if you find time. I cannot find the answer anywhere on the MIR F2 site so here goes: I have an F2AS #7737568 with a focussing screen I cant identify. I finally decided to replace it with another one so used the MIR site to identify which ones I should be looking for. However I cant find MY screen anywhere in your listings , under F,F2 or even F3 (I was getting desperate) It has "K" stamped on it but it is nothing like the K's displayed on your site. It is plain matt/fresnel over whole area with 2 circles in center. The circles are meter-related as they are the same as the rest of the screen inside. Most curiously, in the center of the center circle (obviously the other one too...) are 2 "ends" of a rectangle. They remind me of a 70's handheld rangefinder I used to own but they dont function that way. in fact they dont seem to have any purpose obvious to me. Like this:

Excuse the poor representation. There is also a barely visible circle in the center of the "rangefinder" marks. If you could identify this in anyway Id be dearly grateful. I could send a digital photo of it but I wanted to ask permission first.. Thanks you for your help Yours Sincerely Russell Gough Daytona Beach Florida

Hi Giacomo, The problem with your F2 is that the end stop is broken. See : http://www.geocities.com/sover_wong/Broken_winder_end-stop.html The repair is not for the self repairer. I have the replacement part and I can repair this, and teh other fault for you. See my web site : http://www.geocities.com/sover_wong/Nikon_F2_Repair_Service.html Regards, Sover

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my F2 Photomic. The film advance lever won't stick in the 20 degrees position that switches the meter on. In a (possibly) unrelated issue, the meter switch on the finder (DE-1) does not seem to work anymore. Should I bring the camera to repair? Is it something that can be easily (VERY easily: I'm rather clumsy) fixed with a screwdriver? Thanks in advance!

To those who may be interested: The new Nikon F5 site is opened for preview now:
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/NikonF5/index.htm
The section has included some newer AF Micro-Nikkor optics at the MACRO segment (lacks good macro photos to bright up the pages, but I am talking to some for contributions). A dedicated Message Board is also provided. Enjoy.
