I have a Nikon F2 and the dial controlling the shutter speed under the ASA Dial seems to be stuck, moving only between B and 1. I have tried everything but think I must be missing something?2. From : frederick (crystalwoodsfb@bigpond.com)

My F2 serial number is 7564606 and it has a prism as shown on the NIKON F2 HISTORY black F2 with lens hood [rhs camera]. The prism has the small apeture window north-east above the last "N" in NIKON .
I have searched everywhere but cannot find the designation for the camera and Prism unit. The camera has a MD-2 motor drive unit.
Could you please advise-
1. what prism I have [designation number]
2. what is the correct name for the lenses associated with this camera, as I wish to purchase several NIKON lenses as follows [ it has a bayonet fitting]:
2.1 - close up
2.2 - @ 35 to 105 approx.
2.3 - @ 105 to 200 or 300 approx
Your help is appreciated
Frederick

Hi Frank,
The behaviour of your F2 is quite abnormal. I suggest you to have it serviced, and if it is not in great looking condition then retire it and buy a better one.

ood day to you,
I own a Nikon F2 AND LATELY THE FILM ADVANCE LEVER HAS BEEN ACTING UP. FIRST I HAD TO WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO ADVANCE THIS CAMERA TO THE NEXT FRAME. tHEN AFTER ANOTHER ROL OF FILM WAS USED I HAD TO FIDDLE WITH THE REWIND RELEASE BUTTON TO GET THE SHUTTER TO WORK. NOW I AM ON THE THIRD ROLL AND IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK IT AT ALL. IF I ROTATE THE CAMERA SOMETIMES THE SHUTTER WILL WORK. IS SOMETHING WORN OUT YOU THINK?
KIND REGARDS

The F2 battery chamber can only be accessed by removing the front assembly, so it's not for novices.8. From : Sover Wong (soverf2repair@yahoo.com)

Have an F2A with the NEGATIVE (bottom of the battery compartment) batt. contact completely missing. That camera has the batt. comp. made integral with the secondary frame which mounts also the curtain tensioning rollers. Cannot see any part of the contact in the comp. so it is broken off back up in the slot. Any suggestions as to how to repair this one without complete disassembly???? I am hopeful I can make a repair without disturbing the curtain rollers. I think this is the first model I have seen with the batt. comp. not easily removable.
