Hello Nikonmaster Kevin and Nikon friends,

thanks a lot for your assistance and tips on repairing my F2. Meanwhile it works again! Replacement of the innerfront body turned out to be a difficult job. I left the mirror box in place, but getting the new innerfront body into its position took me some time in the end... experience is everything, I guess...
A most friendly internet site!
Bert

Hello guys, I inherited one F2 4 years ago. I used it for several times and found that the light meter needle is not working properly. Sometimes it overreact or even reluctant to move. I brought it to a camera store to get it fixed. It went well for a couple of rolls and then it won't move at all. I brought it back to the store and the repairman said it is impossible to make it work as normal again because the photodiode is already weak and there are no spareparts available for the F2. I don't know if this is true, but can anybody help me on how to heal this lovely camera.

Bert,

It's easy to free the mirror-box from the rear casting.
Just carefully peel back the leatherette at the top of the self-timer side until you can see a small hole.
Then insert a small screwdriver in while pulling on the mirror box. Of course, you've already removed the eight screws that hold it in...

I'm from the Philipines and i was able to purchase a used F2 NIkon camera that came along with a 52mm and a 35-70mm zoom lens. A manual of the camera isn't included with my purchase though. Does anybody know how i can get hold of one. I'd like very much to get to know my camera and a manual will surely be a great help. Anybody who can help may e-mail me..Thanks!

Hello Nikon specialists, I own a Nikon F2 body. The innerfront body (this is the grey metal frame to which the chrome bajonet is fixed) is broken. Through sheer luck, I obtained a new one, but find it difficult to remove the old one from the rest of the camera. I have taken off the leathering and removed the screws. The innerfront body is loose now, but is still hold in place by something from the inside of the camera at the right side (I mean, where the self timer is situated). Is there anybody out there who could give me an advice on how to fully remove the innerfront body? The selftimer unit is still in place, and so is the mirror lock button. Any suggestions are appreciated. I do not have the Nikon Repair Book at hand. The top cover is still in place. Thanks a lot for your help! Bert.
