I have a Nikon F2 serial number 7687955 with a DP-2 metered priz. serial number 682472. I bought the camera used with three lenses. I am looking for info as to the year built and anything else about the camera. It is in great shape and still takes great pictures. I do have a fixed 105mm lense that is wonderful for portraits.2. So are there parts for the DP-11? You didn't mention in the post... I love my F2a and hope it can be repaired if it EVER has a problem. I have had it since 1980!3. From : Sover Wong (soverf2repair@yahoo.com)

Hi Henry,
The choice of finders would dependent on the type of lenses you have or intend to buy. DP-1/2/3 for non AI lenses, and DP-11/12 for AI/AF (not not G series) lenses
Do not buy DP-3 or DP-12 below Exc++ condition was lower grade ones have too worn ring resistors and there are no more spare parts.

Hi Jamesh,
It would be one of the LED is faulty, simple fix, or the electrpnics board is faulty and requires replacement. The latter is fixable but costly.

Hi Emile,
You can use the DS-1 and DS-2 with the F2S and F2SB, but not the F2AS.

Thanks for welcoming me to the family of Nikon F2 owners. I have a black and silver F2 (non-metered) body and in mint condition. I am looking to buy some basic lens, as well as a metered prism. I would be very appreciative, if someone could guide me in this regard. Thanks.7. From : Emile Oijen (eaoijen@gmail.com)

I have an F2 with a DP2 head - the plus side of the meter is not lighting up - but the -ve side works fine. Any ideas what's wrong? Is it fixable?

In my opinion, the Nikon F2 Photomic is the best 35mm SLR ever made.I personally own more then 60 Nikon Bodies from the early 50's to the new F6...
They just don't make them to last as long anymore.
Cheers

I'm sorry if this sounds stupid and ignorant, but i'm not very say... yet. Anways, my camera seems to be fine and in all well working order, but when I press the shutter release button, the shutter doesn't open and the camera doesn't take the picture. at first I thought it might be how I rolled the film, but upon closer inspection, I don't think so. on the little screen it has a flashing, symbol? a sign kind of, that i think has something to do with it a smaller F E E. and then after the f, a double E. I was wondering if there is an explanation for this, and if it is a simple problem that is easy to fix or if it will possibly need more proffesional help? Thanks a lot!!! i have a Nikon F-601
