JP, I think the back you're looking for is the MF-3.

Question: I am in the market for a Nikon F2 as well as the motro drive unit and battery pack. In one of you pics on this site I noticed what seemed to be a thumb grip on the shutter release, back side of the camera. What is that item called, what is the model number, and since it did not appear on any of the motordrive unit pics Im assuming it is an accessory you have to purchae? Maybe a special camera back? Thanks, James

Question: I am looking to purchase a Nikon F2 along with the
MD-2 and battery pack. In one of you F2 pictures I noticed what looked like a thumb grip on the right rear side of the camera. I did not seem to be attached to any of the pics with the motor drive unit, when shown separatly, and Im guessing its either an attached item or part of a different camera back. Could someone please let me know what that is and the model number of that accessory.
Thanks

When I set the shutte-speed selector to "B" and push and hold the shutter-speed dial lock while turning the selector counter-clockwise the entire selctor rotates. When the selector reaches 1/80 the dial lock button sinks lower and the shutter-speed selector will no longer rotate. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!!

Great pictures. Great angles. Very bright & vibrant colors. Some of the best sunset pictures I have ever seen. I just finished your June 2005 gallery. What kind of camera did you use?

Hi Pete, The nylon gear on your MD is split. This happens in 99.9% MD-3s (even unused ones) and 50% in MD-2s (early MD-2 and all MD-1 have metal metal motor gears.) Fear not, I can help. See my web sites below :
