I have just looked up your site because, having, that is borrowing a friend's Nikon F2 and having a problem occasionally with the light meter failing to work. A friend, currently unavailable, fixed it last time very easily by adjusting and releasing something. Can you help me. This camera is not as pictured on your site but has an F2 registration number engraved on the case. I wopuld very much appreciate your earliest response as it is a beautiful day here in New Zealand begging for acknowledgment of some kind. let me at it please! Elizabeth

Ted Durkee - The F2 can take any Nikon mount lens which has the index prong or "rabbit ears" attached to the f-stop ring. Most manual focus Nikon AI lenses continue to have them in order to make them compatable with Nikon's older, non-AI cameras. They are less common on new third party maker's lenses. The later version of the F2, the F2A, accepts the current AI lenses and may give you more choices.

Help! I'm trying to get some history on my Nikon & thus far have narrowed it down to F Series, but have yet to find an image of my camera. All I can say reguarding identifying features is that this Nikon is housed in a black / silver body. The word "Nikon" appears twice... Once on the black prism directly over the lens mount. The second appears on top of the cameras silver top, next to a small switch where the letter's [A] & [R] appear. "Made in Japan" is stamped in the silver bottom at center, and a serial number is stamped in the silver top at left just right of the manual film winder. Can the serial # help? Hey everybody. I'm very interested in these older nikons, especially the F2. I've looked everywhere for the the answer to this question, but even my local camera "pro" shop doesn't know.
