Hi Bill, I'm not familiar with your flash, but the F2 cannot use flash at shutter speeds higher than 1/80 (the red mark between 1/60 and 1/125). At speeds of 1/80 and slower, the first shutter curtain will open completely before the second curtain starts to close. This allows the flash to expose the whole frame. At higher speeds, the second shutter curtain starts to close before the first curtain has fully opened. Therefore, if you used flash at a higher speed, the shutter will be covering part of the film frame when the flash fires and the covered part of your picture will be underexposed.2. i've got a question regarding using the sb-16 flash and a f2. when using the auto mode 1 or 2 does the speed of the shutter matter much? i just bought a 16b and shot three rolls of film--kids playing soccer indoors. as suggested i used asa 400 film, a2 mode on the flash ( 8 aperture ) and 1/500 speed. i didn't change the speed for most of my pics--the film is still in development. just curious if the speed is independent of the a1 or a2 settings? thanx,

I have an original black Nikon F2 Photomic (with motor drive) The camera has had no more than 20 films through it (I bought it new) and still have the original instruction book(s) I have a few nikons and bought this one to round out a collection (I used to have nikon s r/finder) I have the above Nikon F2, F Photomic (orig. Photomic head with cds cell on top/outside of prism, F FTn Photomic, a (I think) Ft photomic) F3 HP, and a Nikon FA. I could be persauded to sell the F2 but...it wouldn't be cheap due to its "as new" condition. And there is the original e.r. case for the F2 as well. If I sell the F2 it would be without a lens. I have both of the early 50mm f2 nikkor lensess (the very first was a seven element lens whilst subsequent f2/50mm lenses were 6 element...I love my nikkor lenses. The Nikon F Photomic (I think this one is a Ft Photomic)with orig. nikon motor drive is for sale. This one has one of the Nikkor 135mm f3.5 lenses to go with it. Anyway...if anyone is interested drop me an e-mail. I live in Australia. When sending an e-mail ensure that you place nikon in the subject line as I'm very wary of unknown e-mails.
Thank you. Tony Smith Australia.4. From : James Lai (jimbob83@hotmail.com)

Hi Luc, to clarify, I meant the button that is located on top of the shutter speed/ASA dial on the DP-3 and DP-12 meter prisms, not the button on the body's shutter speed dial. The F2 with DE-1 has no ASA setting -- it doesn't have a meter and has no need to set film speed.5. From : Luc Bourgeois (info@forcemajeure.qc.ca)

THe button on the shutter speed/asa dial is only a physical link up for a Photomic meter (if we're talking about the same thing here - you would have a straight DE 1 non-metered prism) Luc6. From : James Lai (jimbob83@hotmail.com)

Hi Stephen, this may be a silly question, but is the MD-3 attached to your camera? If it isn't, it will run until the counter reaches 0, that's normal. If it is, then I'm afraid I don't know what's wrong with it, but you could try posting the question on the Nikon Repair discussion group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NikonRepair.7. Hi Tomi, the ISO is changed by lifting the ring around the shutter speed/ASA dial. If you're pushing a button, that is probably the button to meter long exposures on the F2SB DP-3 finder or the F2AS DP-12 finder. The instructions for each F2 finder are available on this web site (see the main F2 Index Page under Prisms/Metered Prisms).8. From : Tomi (news@delinic.de)

Can anyone help? My md3 runs continuosly when you set the rotary frame counting dial. When you press the push button switch to fire the shutter, advance film etc., it stops running, then as soon as you take your finger off the button it runs again until the dial reads zero. Thanks for any suggestions. I took it to a repair shop and they said just buy another one!10.
