Steve, were you able to get any info on the F2 batteries?? I have used the 3v lithium and two 1.5v silver oxide and cannot tell any difference between them in terms of metering. But your post made me curious as to what Nikon's specs for the F2 are. Mike3. From : bob arden (eldeaviles@yahoo.com)

I HAVE A NIKCON F2S I BOUGHT IN 1974. I'VE REPLACED THE LED DISPLAY ONTOP OF MY DP2 4 OR 5 TIMES AND WITHIN A YEAR IT HAS A CRACK IN IT. ALSO WITH THE VIEW FINDER, I'LL TURN THE VIEWINDER ON AND THERE WILL BE NO LED'S AND THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I NEED IT MOST. USUALLY I HAVE TO TAKE THE CAMERA ATTACHMENTS OFF AND CLEAN EVEYTHING AND WIGGLE THE VIEWFINDER AT TIMES. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP THE LAST TIME AGO FOR THIS ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO AND THE PROBLEMS' NEVER BEEN SOLVED SO I GAVE UP AND HAVEN'T USED THE CAMERA SINCE.

Battery specifications: Does anyone have knowledge on batteries or replacement batteries for a F2 Photomic?
I have a Ricoh booklet for a KR-30 that uses (4) SR-44 1.55v but says you can substitute (2) CR-1/3N 3v Lithium. For my Nikon EM it takes (1) DL1/3N 3volt. Silver Oxide
My FG-20 takes (2) M8-76 Silver Oxide
The specs here say SR-44 1.5v
and another site says SR-44 1.25v for the F2. Anyone have any suggestions as to the right data?7. From : Bill (wrs111445@yahoo.com)

They say, "That time comes when ... ." Well, I suppose, for me, you could say "That time has come."
After thirty-five years of enjoying the purchase and use of Nikon cameras, Nikon flashes, Bowens studio lighting, Nikkor and Nikon lens, motor drives, various filters, etc., the time has come for me to "get real" about the notion that I can't take the stuff with me, no matter how much I love it. So, I am preparing to put all my equipment (which is quite a collection, as compared to that a normal person might garner through life) on the auction block.
My four Nikon cameras (F/1974, F3, F4, and EM) form the foundations around which my entire collection is built. Presently, I am photographing all the equipment as best I can to demonstrate the pride I have exercised in keeping my equipment in clean and faultless working condition. I can honestly say: If I were in the market for a nice piece of used equipment I would be unrealistic to think I would find any in better condition than that which I am selling. The collection, as a whole, really is a testament to careful and prideful ownership.
So, given my intentions — to sell my entire collection, I am soliciting advice from those of you, fellow nikonians, who may care to share your knowledge and experience in selling equipment through internet auction. If you feel you know some obscurities of the process that would benefit my selling of the equipment, I would greatly appreciate your sharing that knowledge with me. Maybe more importantly, I want to give potential buyers the kind of information they need to have confidence in my integrity, and the true character and integrity of the equipment they may be interested in purchasing. I would like for each purchaser to be surprised in only one way — that the equipment condition, mechanically and aesthetically, exceeds their expectations.
I look forward to any advice you may choose to share. For you to take the few minutes it will take to share your thoughts will be most kind; and, I assure you I will be most appreciative.
Thank you for taking time to read this posting.

Hi, I have a nikon F2 which I have been given, I have fitted a new batteries energizer 3.0 v the same batteries which was in the camera. From reading the site I see it should have 2 1.5 v. anyway the meter does not show any sign of power. Any help would be very much welcome. Regards Glyn.10. Hello All,I have an "under-exposure" question. My F2 is fitted with a DP-3 meter. My 1st roll of Black & White (400TMax) was very under-exposed, all of the frames were composed and taken with the meter adjustment at (0) the ASA setting was at 400. In the past my color prints (ASA 200) were some what questionable on under-exposure also.
My question is on the ASA settings using a particular focus screen. The focus screen I'm using is clear with a horizontal split circle. When using a particular focu screen, does the ASA setting need to be adjusted +1/2, +1, -1/2 etc?
Also my ASA lock ring while moving the red triangle on the correct ASA setting, seems to be either side of the correct number, i,e., a half click off left or right side? Thanks in advance. Dennis
