I was recently given a Nikon F2 and really want to start using it. Unfortunately, I know nothing about photography. Are there any suggestions for websites I should visit to get started? Any help is appreciated.2. From : Russell Ruggiero (rrugg55041@aol.com)

Dear LF, The Nikon F2 is a great camera in every aspect. It is well balanced and is finely made. I feel it is the best Nikon SLR ever built. While my Nikon F3hp leverages some of the latest technologies, it does not feel "Old World" like the Nikon F2. Think of this latter Nikon as the SLR version of the Leica M3. Thank You Russ PS: Nikon F2 or Canon F-1n? They are both at the top of their class. I own these two rivals, and both work without those little silver disks you put into the bottom cover.3. Consider this message a "testamentary" to the good work of Robert Decker when it comes to F2 meter repairs. I recently sent a DP-11 meterhead with a sticking needle to Mr. Decker. He replaced it with a new needle and calibrated the meter head. It now is working as accurately as my DP-12 meter, which is to say it meters perfectly. If you own an F2 meterhead and have had problems, and if you've been told it is no longer repairable, DO NOT BELIEVE IT! Look up Mr. Decker's repair web-site on this F2 page and drop him a line- he specializes in nothing but F2 and F meterheads. He does not work on the camera bodies- only on the prisms. If it hasn't been dropped in water or opened by some amatuer and screwed up, chances are he will get it both running and it will be as accurate as the day it was built.4. To the webmaster. I'm an avid F2 collector from Canada and I alway's refer to your website for info. Can you tell me which best decices I can use to reload AM-1 film cassettes? I own a bulk film loader from Nikon for my MZ-1/MZ-2 cassettes but it's not compatible with the AM-1. Also I want to use an HN-13 lens hood with a 72mm circular polarising filter on a Nikkor 85mm F1.4 lens but I can't find any info if it's compatible with that lens. Thank you for your great F2/F3 website and I look forward to your reply. Anthony.7. From : Greg Chappell (gregmchappell@nww.net)

Is there an online source where I can access the operating manual for the MD-1?9. From : Greg Chappell (gregmchappell@nww.net)

David, Regarding your message as to a nice flash unit that's a good size for the F2, try a Metz 34 CS-2. It has 3 auto apertures plus full manual & is a great pocket-sized flash with plenty of pop for it's size & shoots out to as far as 46 feet/14 meters. I use one with my F2A/F2AS bodies all the time. It produces great results and you don't even know you have a flash mounted. Good luck.10. Yun: The starting two digits of the serial number are referring to the year it produces. Most camera collectors "think" the late numbers are the best (as they believe mechanical F2 produced at later stage could have solved whatever problems it may has and has perfected everything in precision mechanical engineering etc..). Other than the Ai coupling, it was also one of the reason why the F2AS is selling so expensive than others (naturally, it has the best and most sensitive metered finder among all F2s). Since F2AS was produced in 1977, so, serial number like "8023099" posted by the gentleman from Taiwan earlier may indicate it was produced in 1980 and often such model will be able to get a higher premium than other F2s (if you believe such kind of funny but logical theory stands !).
