Minolta X-700 | Maxxmum 7000 | Dynax 7000i - Guestbook/Message Board

Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. A couple of days ago, my Maxxmum 7000 started drawing 65 or 70 mA all the time - even when it's in the lock position. It will not turn on or snap pictures.

Now, I had store the camera in my car, but it had been cold during the day; this family friend though that what happened is that the batteries were too cold to give enough power and so the camera's response slowed down and got stuck in some operation. He suggested that there is something I could do to reset the camera out of this state, but I've looked through the manual and can't seem to find anything that could help (although I've tried many things).

I've just bought an X700 on eBay and it seems to be working fine, with the exception of the film counter which doesn't appear to advance when cocking the mechanism and taking the shot, instead the counter just stays on "S".

Admittedly I haven't put a film in it yet, but when reading through the manual it sounded like the counter should advance regardless of whether there is a film in the camera.

Can someone tell me if that is the case, and how or where I could go about fixing the film counter (I'm located in NE England, if that helps?).

Cheers,

Chris

can anyone tell me what "bleeding of the lcd means"?

A NOTE from co-maintainer: I guess should be "BLINKING", usually there is some operational sequence has gone wrong OR exposure control is out of camera metering range. I am not sure if this was extracted from the site, the creator usually use spell check to rectify typo error could be replacing the a mismatched word by error. You can notify us to rectify the mistake. THANKS, CANDY.

I have a minolta maxxmum 7000 which I have owned for 22 years.
I am having difficulty in locating where the lithium battery is
located in my camera. The manual is not helpful in this area and
I have no idea where the closest minolta dealer or representative
is to me. I hope someone out there can be of help to me. I live
in upstate New York.

With brand new batteries, my X-700 still won't take a picture, therefor I can't advance the lever, thus I can't load a roll? Anyone seen this?

Im trying to figure out how to self-repair a Minolta 7000 Maxxum that my grandmother has given me. Im totally unfamilar with this make of camera, but pretty savvy about cameras in general. I think something is wrong with the shutter. Maybe a shutter blade issue? She had a professional look at it and they couldnt find anything. I can load film, get it working, but as soon as i press the shutter release it beeps and dies.Any ideas on whats going on?Thanks.
