Hi : I purchassed my Minolta Maxxum 7000 @ 1987. At that time and still today it's the best i've seen. I have taken thousands & thousands of photos in the last 17 years, including numerous wedding pictures where my clients were fully satisfied. However last weekend @ 2 hrs. before I was due at a brides house for wedding preperation photos I put fresh batt. in my camera but she wouldn't focus for me. I replaced the new batt. with more new and still the same. At that time I smelled something burning that smelled electrical. I quickly realized it was coming from my camera. I was now wondering if this camera is totally history or is there some component that would cause this that could be replaced. Any suggestions?

I am trying to lacate a replacement leather case for my Minolta 7000 Maxxum camera. After 19 years the camera is still in great condition, but the leather case is falling apart. The Minolta part number for the body is CB-72 and the cover is CF-72. Does anyone make a aftermarket case that will fit this camera just as good?

I've lost my Minolta Camera and the Insurance has paid me for the costs. I want to buy another one as soon as possible before I misuse the money. Could you help me with few samples in:
35mm Minolta cameras and their prices and how to order it? I am in Namibia, just a border country with South Africa.

Konica Minolta OR Dynax 60 18/100
Konica Minolta 7 or 9

Or any other model in that range.

Thank you

Hi, just found this site and I have a question similiar to some already asked, however I couldn't find the replies to those questions. I am trying out a minolta x700...took three rolls just fine, new batteries, ect. Went to load film this morning and now the shutter seems locked and won't advance. Never did get the film loaded as the advance arm won't move to allow tightening of the film, nor will the shutter release when pushing the button. Am totally new to this type camera or what to do so any help would be appreciated as I can't find anything in any of the books I have telling what the problem is or how to fix it!

FILTER FOR MINOLTA X-700: I plan to use my camera as a professional, problem is, I miss a lot of fast movements or action shots due to the manual focus. Any one ever hear of a filter that can be installed to avoid having to match up the lines for a perfect picture through the lens?? Any help would be wonderful!!!! :)

I have had my Maxxum 7000 since new in 1985. Recently it seems to overexpose. It was always somewhat like this and I adjusted by uping the film rating. Recently this does not seem to work. I have never replaced the internal lithium battery. Could this be the problem. I get no indication it is bad, but after almost 20 years I would guess it is a little weak. Without me taking it apart, can anyone tell me the type of battery and if it is difficult to replace? I think I know how to get at it, but won't if it requires any special tools. Thank you, Mike

I acquired a Minolta X700 and would like to add a flash. Does anyone know what flash(es) work with this camera? The photo store tried to sell me one that works only at 60. I want to be able to use it in all positions. Also what lenses (brand and style number) will fit this camera? Thanks. Mary

I can't get my maxxum 7000 to turn on, even with new batteries. I haven't replaced the lithium though. Would this make a difference? How do I replace it and what type of battery is it. Thanks
