Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. Unfortunately, these bodies have been long discontinued and you may even find it difficult to locate proper support even from their own creator, Minolta. Well, this site was created to serve and supplement (not compete) all existing owners and potential buyers, you may use this site for common support and share experience wherever it relates. My X700 has not been used in about two years. I have put in new batteries, LED's light up, but shutter will not release. The film advance lever won't advance either. Seems like a common problem. Any Help?4. From : alexander (xemit2@cox.net)

I've found references to a second battery in the "early 7000 and 7000i", but apparently the 7000 uses AA batteries while my 7000i uses a 2CR5. Is there a hidden small battery in the 7000i that I may be missing Thanks! ... Al6. From : Alfred Cellier (N6AC@ARRL.net)

My Minolta Maxxum 7000i with Vivitar 28-200mm AF Zoom was repaired at a local (southern California) shop some years back for AF and AF/MF switch acting up. The repair seemed successful at first; the camera went on the shelf. Now, I find AF not working, AF/MF switch not seeming to work, AND I cannot release the lens from the body. Sigh. I've tried easy and hard, and I've held shutter B open to try to see if there was a way to effect the release from the rear, but no joy. Am I going to have to use my SawzAll to sacrifice one or the other? Which should die? Or does someone have a better idea? Thanks for any ideas. ... Al7. From : David Salow (davesmts@hotmail.com)

I have had my X-700 for over 19 years. it is still in perfect working condition and I prefer it over some of the newer models. However, I recently broke my last working flash. Can anyone suggest a flash that will work with this camera? I hate to just shelf it and never use it again.9. From : chase (Saie_Tahnn@comcast.net)

"...question was regarding the internal battery of the Minolta Maxxum 7000 AF, which is different than the AAA batteries in the grip that power the camera for most functions. The internal battery in the Minolta Maxxum 7000 AF is provided for memory back-up if the AAA batteries run out of juice. This internal battery lies beneath the silver plate under the AAA battery pack. First remove the AAA battery case from the camera, and then unscrew the six screws that hold the plate to the camera and you will have access to the internal battery. Battery type is CR 2016 and is widely available...."
