Humidity won't cause a camera to stuck. Open the film back, check if there is anything (dust, foreign particales etc. in the shutter chamber). Battery may be another culprit - open the compartment, check any sign of corrosive contacts, clean with a pencle eraser if it has. Lastly, also check the foam at the op of the mirror bos asnd see if it has mealt. IF it sworks, something is only malfunction somewhere. not distrastorus I think. Oh.. one more thing, I hope you won't get annoyed - wrong setting on film speed or use of wrong aperture to exposure may cause this as well.

shutter stick/shutter lock background: on my way back to Reno, NV from SoCal this summer i stopped at a few places along the 395 and snapped some pics with my 9000. it was quite humid, as there were thunderstorms breaking out all along the drive. that's what took pictures of. when i got home, i took a few more frames and then let the camera sit around for a few weeks. i finished the roll with some pictures of the balloon race here.
turns out the first 7 frames of the desert and the few others i took here before the balloon race were never exposed, and i'm thinking that the humidity fouled up the shutter and got it stuck. it was fairly humid here for the 2-3 other pics.
i know it wasn't the mirror, because i would have noticed the lack of "snap" and knew right then that something was wrong.
it was fairly humid in San Diego, too, but that roll came out fine. judging by some of the other posts here i may do very well by getting the thing cleaned, but is it possible that the humidity caused the shutter to not open? thx

I have a Maxxum 7000, and the autofocus is off by just a little bit - in other words, the focus indicator gives a green light, and the autofocus focuses, in a spot that is almost, but not quite focused. Anyone know how to calibrate the autofocus? Thanks, Mike

Can anyone tell me how much a minolta 7000 is worth? It has a case, small tripod, pistal grip, minolta maxxum flash 2800 AF and all manuals. It was purchased in 1986 according to the warranty info.

I have a Maxxum 7000i and it also flashes Help on the screen. Is this fixable? Or do I have to take it into a repair shop?
