Minolta X-700 | Maxxmum 7000 | Dynax 7000i - Guestbook/Message Board

Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. I have a Minolta X 700, Auto Electroflash 280 PX, and a Toyo Optics MC Auto Tele Converter 2x for MD/Zoom. I have a bag for everything and extra different color lenses. I think I bought it in the late 70's to take photos of our kids soccer games and other sports. I haven't used it in years and need to sell it, I have no idea what to sell it for, thought some one might give me some ideas. I use a digital camera now and couldn't live without it. I was hoping there would be someone that could use it maybe for teaching or something, or someone that likes 35 mm cameras
Sooooo, anybody, any ideas???? Thanks for your help. Barbara

I have not used my Minolta X700 for years and now would like to.
I put know batteries in it (the right way) and still cannot seem
to make it work. I turned "on" the power switch but the film advance lever won't even move all the way to its fullest position
and I don't see anything out the lense (with the lens cap off, of course).
Can anyone give me any ideas. I have read the owner's manual.

Friends

Just purchased a Minolta 7000 AF body from Merchant City Cameras Glasgow Scotland (thoroughly recommended). All seems well, apart from viewfinder display, which is completely blank. Skimmed through some of the many posts, and conclude (perhaps) its just age, but does anyone know of any rectifiable technical solution. Also there is an array of three green LED's above the 'Minolta' brand name. Not mentioned in the owners manaual or pocket guide so curious about their function.

Cheers

Richard
