Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Minolta X-700 | Maxxmum 7000 | Dynax 7000i - Guestbook/Message Board

Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. Unfortunately, these bodies have been long discontinued and you may even find it difficult to locate proper support even from their own creator, Minolta. Well, this site was created to serve and supplement (not compete) all existing owners and potential buyers, you may use this site for common support and share experience wherever it relates. I am not a Minolta Experta nd thus, please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you in advance for being considerate. I have bought this X-700 camera with a 35-70mm zoom lens back in 1984 and it has helped to capture many memorable moments of my family. I am not a serious photographer but I enjoy very much using this camera and kinda lucky that it seldom gives me any problem thus far. I am looking for another close up lens and It is good to find out that this camera has a website on its own now so I can always encourage my children to use here as reference how to make good use of the simple camera we owned for so long. Thank you very much for the rich content that you are presented here. The Internet needs more positive, high quality resources just like yours to move on. Good day.

Great site! Well done, Leofoo! Thanks!

My question here:
Is X700 still a good buy nowadays? If yes, how much should I expect to pay for a mint one?

Does Minolta ever change its lens mount? Can I use today's Minolta lenses on X700?

I like this website of X-700. Informative, pleasantly displayed, friendly and most of all, there is no disturbing advertisement panels running across the pages. I have been using Minolta for years and own a Dynax 7i now but very often, I am still falling back to the manual focus camera body for my personal trips. The X-700 is a very well made camera and seldom give any headache in performance. It truly deserves a serious recommendation for any starters in 35mm photography. The only problem is perhaps the lack of product support now from Minolta ! K.R.

I have just visited your Contax RTS series website and found that you have just completed another MARVELOUS Minolta website here featuring both of the X-700 and Maxxum 7000. I cannot hide my admiration for all the effort and dedication you have put in to enable the realization of these great photographic resources compiled for all the photo enthusiasts worldwide. Hopefully, one day, I can see my favourite Canon EOS bodies received the same level of attention and I will be patiently awaiting for such possibilities. Once again, thanks for the GREATNESS. Cheers, A.G. FL.
