Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. Unfortunately, these bodies have been long discontinued and you may even find it difficult to locate proper support even from their own creator, Minolta. Well, this site was created to serve and supplement (not compete) all existing owners and potential buyers, you may use this site for common support and share experience wherever it relates. X700 Lovers,
The manual winder lever is locked (no film advance or loading). Is there anything to solve this? If need be I have a spare parts X700 body to take parts from. If there is a trick to unlock film advance (before I take it apart) please pass on the fix. I have had three X700's since 1981 when they were new on the SLR world. This is the first time I have had a film advance issue. I also have a power grip winder wich works fine.

I am a little confused. I purchased a Minolta Maxxum 70 and need an owners manual. Every where I look I see Maxxum 700, 7000 etc but no manual for 70.
Can I use a manual for one of the other series and if so which one would be the closest to my camera?
Any help would be greatly appreciated because I am taking a college course in photography and need to know how to use this camera for my class. Thanks!!4. From : MargobMarquis (margo22@charter.net)

I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I have owned for 20 years. I haven't used it in a long while and from what I can determine the lithium battery is dead. Is this something I can replace myself? I'm pretty handy with this kind of stuff but have no idea where the battery is located. Any help will be greatly appreciated.6. From : Tang (tangwk78@yahoo.com)

NO ! the current Sony SLR will accepts the AF Minolta (MAXXUM) class of AF lenses only BUT not the older MC/MD mount lenses where the Minolta X-700 uses. You do a search to double confirm this.
These are some of the posts via the search:- Hi ...the Sony DSLRs are the direct descendants of the Minolta Maxxum system, and my understanding is that the Maxxum lenses should fit the DSLRs. There may be exceptions though. Older MD/MC lenses for DSLR (sony) - I think you're out of luck. As far as I know, Minolta MC/MD lenses will not adapt to any digital camera. There are adapters to Canon EOS for Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Contax/Yashica and Leica lenses, but not for Minolta to my knowledge. Answer rpovided by Mr. Rick Oleson (rick_oleson@yahoo.com).8.
