Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. I just bought a Minolta Camera (Maxxum 7000i) w/ two lenses (AF 35-105 and AF 100-300) also came with a flash (Maxxum 3200i). I was wondering what all this should cost. I looked on the internet and could only find the price for the one lense (AF 100-300) which was priced at $130. Could someone help me, so that I know if I got ripped off or got a good deal. I payed $250 bucks. I'm pretty sure I got a good deal, the guy just wanted to get the camera off his hands. Thanks for any help!

This is a copy of my email too George (regarding his question on 12/25/03) - it may be helpful to some of you!
Hi George, I got a Minolta Maxxum 7000 from my uncle who never used it (for over 15 years?). It works fine, but the pictures are too dark so I guessed the lithium battery has to be replaced. (although it is clear from the manual that the lithium used only for holding data not for the operation) Anyway, I figured if a tech can replace the battary I can do it too! :) I started to look around I guessed that it has to be arountd the other (AA) batteries. After removing the battery holder, I decided to remove the metal plate (6 screws - you need a very small phillips screwdriver). The lithium battery is under the plate. Be careful because a small wire goes to the plate. The change of the battery very easy and no need for taking the camera to anywhere. Make sure you remember the polarity - (+ down)! The battery you need is CR2016 (3V) available at Radioshack. Good luck!
Note: 6 screws : 3 shorter + 3 longer, make sure you put them backin the right place! By the way, Anyone know what could cause too dark pictures (I guess under-exposed?) in P mode? I don't have any experience and I need to rely on the meter - which I guess not working properly! (it seems that I haveto have at least twice as long exposure time than the P suggest!) Thanks for your suggestions (drop me a line) Sandor8. From : Tim (bake152az@msn.com)

Has anyone had a problem with the shutter getting stuck open? I can't advance the film and get no response when depressing button. Batteries are new? Ideas? I've had the camera for years and it is in pristine condition. Thanks9. From : Niklas V-Grebius (petmagroin@hotmail.com)
