Minolta X-700 | Maxxmum 7000 | Dynax 7000i - Guestbook/Message Board

Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. I have a X-700 with a shutter problem. The winding mechanism and the shutter appear to function correctly with the exception of the curtain nevers open. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

I'm still the proud owner of the Minolta 7000 together with the many original extras that I bought in the early 80's. Recently, I noticed that the coating on the camera body began to peel out making it look horible. Also, the view finder has a dark spot about the size of small fingle nail right at the bottom of the screen. However, I've made a thorough check on the performance and found that the pictures are all of good quality. I'm hoping to replace the body if available. Can anyone help me? Also, if the body is no no longer available in the market, can I use my flash and lenses on other bodies?

I recently aquired a Minolta Maxxum 7000. Replaced the litium battery and the camera functioned correctly but the pictures did not come out exposed correctly. I sent the camera in to a place called Camtronics in Columbus Ohio. The camera was serviced and the magnet replaced. The current problem is that the flash does not fire, it works if you push the test button but does not work if used on the camera. Can anyone help with this issue? I have thought maybe the flash is bad. The red focus lights work the flash indicator flashes when you look into viewfinder but when the picture is snapped no flash and no "OK" light.
