Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. Unfortunately, these bodies have been long discontinued and you may even find it difficult to locate proper support even from their own creator, Minolta. Well, this site was created to serve and supplement (not compete) all existing owners and potential buyers, you may use this site for common support and share experience wherever it relates. I am not a Minolta Experta nd thus, please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you in advance for being considerate. Can anyone help with this problem I've been having on and off with the X-700 and also the X-9? Neither will function after putting in new batteries (type LR44).The mode indicators will light uo for a second on the X-9 and then everything dies.2. From : Rick Haines (rhaines_1@charter.net)

I have minolta x-700, two of them actually, that i use for pre-school portraiture. one, flash attachment no longer works, since minolta no longer makes this, no parts exist. second one just started having problem with shutter staying open, or half open. i am told it will have to sent back to minolta to fix at a cost if $185. I bought thses two cameras within a year of each other, and never told model was to be discontinued. I have no working camera! This web site leads me to believe I am not the only one having problems. I have bought macro lens, auto winders and flash equipment to go with, I can nit afford to start all over again. Has anyone contacted Minolta directly? I intend to do just that. re:Lu maybe hot shoe got shorted. just check its soldering in case you open it.
re:Gilbert when you open backdoor, u can see small switch in rails located just below winding lever. push it slightly with toothpick. if it do not helps u should go to repair shop.
re:Jim maybe frism or mirror distorted due to drop. Minolta MF lenses fits all minolta MF bodies. cheapest model is minolta X-370 or XG. latest model is X-570.
re:michael tadlock, jimbo replace battery and fire shutter. if shutter not fires, winder do not winds, and viewfinder blacked out, you should go to repair shop.
re:JL, Anna push of pull small lever just below shutter speed dial. if it does not winds, fires, see 're:michael tadlock'. if you do not know about battery, see below.
re:Daniel Goodwin its amazing price. you can purchase a couple of "LR44" whereever sells batterys. you may use eBay, cause its cheaper. you can remove round battery covers under its body with coin, just insert it with proper direction.10.
