Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. Unfortunately, these bodies have been long discontinued and you may even find it difficult to locate proper support even from their own creator, Minolta. I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 and a few extra lens'. My question is, does anyone know if there is a Minolta Digital that my lens will fit. I want to go digital but I don't want the expense of the extra lens'.2. From : Peter (catch.me@aon.at)

my minolta 7000 has been a great camera, but just recently out of nowhere, the aperture keys won't work at all. it shows a sign (- -) where the aperture number should be. i read in a monolta book, that it means the aperture priority setting is on, but the lens is not attached. my lens is on, so i can't figure out the problem, sometimes if i mess around the the aperture keys it will work, but then it goes back to the (- -) sign.i think it might be a techincal problem but if anyone could help me that would be great thanks.4. Re: My recent post.
I have decided to get the word 'STUPID' tattooed on my forehead!!
The reason?
Well ...as I was typing about the problems I was having with my Minolta 7000 AFTER installing NEW BATTERIES ...I failed MAGNIFICENTLY! to notice the very obvious!
Camera working fine before installing new batteries all round - Camera dead as a Dodo immediately after.
My mistake that caused me all of my angst? Lithium battery CR2016 replaced ...UPSIDE DOWN!!!
Everything back to normal now ...apart from my brain!!!
Cheers,

Hi all,
This is my first time here and it looks like a great place to pitch my query.
I purchased my Minolta 7000 new in 1986 and have had some good fun and many, many great pic's from it. About 8 years ago I put it away in its bag. I then recently decided to start using it again mainly because I have only a basic digital camera now ...with a very limited zoom range. The Minolta on the other hand has a 70mm - 210mm zoom lens. I loaded it with some (cheap Superdrug AAA's)batteries and a Fuji Xtra 400 film. All went well and I have so far taken 10 pic's. I then decided to replace the Lithium CR 2016 memory storage cell and whilst at Maplins also to get some of their Superplus AAA's. Replaced all batteries and fired up the camera and ...Nothing!! The data panel is reading: Frame number "0" ~ exposure mode "Program" ~ drive mode "S"
I have checked for power through all the terminals including the remote electronic release socket and they all show that power is getting into the camera but is not enabling the main functions. I have nothing showing in the viewfinder ~ no response from the shutter button ~ everything has just gone dead??
Up and running perfectly yesterday morning ...sitting there like a bloody paper-weight this morning!!
I know these fabulous classics are now past their sell-by date but I am praying that my ...well looked after and still pristine looking freind ...can be brought back to life somehow :o(
A lending hand please anyone?

I have a Minolta 7000i and I have a question. I bought a new battery for it the other day and have shot 10 pictures and it is showing half discharged. I notice when I shut the camera down the window shows a film roll and the number 10. Is that normal or should that window be empty when the Camera is shut down? Thanks for any help on this.

Hello,
Does anyone know how to turn on Program Shift mode on the Minolta Maxxum 7000i? I can't get the shutter speed and apeture to appear on the screen at the same time, and the manual doesn't help.
Thanks for any info!10.
