Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Unlike the two great Minolta cameras of yesteryears in the XK/XM/X1 and the XD-7, these newer series of Minolta classic served a different segment of users. Unfortunately, these bodies have been long discontinued and you may even find it difficult to locate proper support even from their own creator, Minolta. Well, this site was created to serve and supplement (not compete) all existing owners and potential buyers, you may use this site for common support and share experience wherever it relates. Help. I think my aperture is sticking somehow. I'm using a 28-70 lens (on a minolta x-700) and I took it off to see exactly how the lens opening works as I adjusted for each f-stop. It seemed to work fine as I went from max to min 3.8 to 22. But as I adjusted back the other way the lens opening didn't change with it...I noticed there is this little thing sticking out behind the lens - if I fiddled with it then the lens opening adjusted to where it should be. Has this happened to anyone and if so, how do I fix it?

I have recently purchased a Minolta MD 28-70/3.5-4.8 Zoom lens for my X-700 and am having a bit of trouble with the focus aid when this lens is being used. The top half of the circular Split-Image Spot is dark, obscuring the part of the subject that should be visible there. This does not happen with the regular 50mm lens. Could someone suggest how I might deal with this? Thanks5. From : Gene Sturgill (hgene1@eastky.net)

Minolta 7000 internal (infernal !!) battery again. Camera showed symptons as described in the manual with flashing display. Eventually flashing stopped and so did the camera. I have removed old original internal lithium battery (2.8volts) and replaced with a new one - voltage ok and the correct way around. Still nothing doing. Have had two completely outrageous quotations of £90 (Sterling) from Minolta and Jessops to "Change the internal battery". Anyone got any ideas ??7. From : LLOYD GRAHAM (dragonslack@verizon.net)

There are always plenty of instruction manuals for sale (cheap) on Ebay. I've also got some good deals on a 7000 body (US$ 85)and an original virtually unused Minolta AF 75-300 zoom for US$120.
BTW anybody got an update on when we are going to get the long awaited SLRD body9. From : ruthbrooks (ruthmbrooks@blueyonder.co.uk)
