Minolta X-700 | Maxxmum 7000 | Dynax 7000i - Guestbook/Message Board

Each of these three featured Minolta SLR camera models represent an era of its own to lead and has great influence over the entire photographic community. Hi all, I really need some advice on this. My Minolta X-700 started having some shutter curtain problems: it doesn't open at speeds above 1/60, and only opens 1/2 way at 1/60 & below. I tried new batteries but it didn't help. Can anyone explain to me how to fix this? I have some experience with electronics & small scale mechanical work but never fixed a camera, and right now I cannot afford to pay $100+ to a repair tech. Thanks for your advice!

I was taking photos with my X-370 and clicked the shutter for my 7th pic and all I can see is black in the viewfinder. Shutting the camera off and back on does not release the mirror from the up position. What is the problem? Thank You! Rich...

I have a Minolta X-700 and need to purchase a zoom lense for it. It's going to be used mainly for close up pictures of skin art. I know absolutely nothing about what I've got and what I need. I don't want to walk into a store and get ripped off. Help! Thanks.

What are the signs of maxxum 7000 INTERNAL BATTERY needs to be replaced? I've tried 3 sets of AA batteries and my camera will not take a picture! My film count is there & settings but when I go to take the picture it will not take and my setting disappear. I LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!!!!!!! It's been the BEST for 15 years I've had it, and I've never replaced the internal battery, so I'm wondering if that is it?

Howdy, I recently located my Minolta X-700. It's been boxed away for years, but now my nephew is taking a photography course in college and I want him to use it. It's been so long since I've used it...(Demon Digital)...Do the batteries have to be functioning for the film advance and the shutter button to work? I want to make sure I'm giving him a working camera and not one that needs work. Thanks, Noel Thanks

Why would my newly purchased X-700 produce 13 blank/clear exposures when all pictures were taken within a half hour in generally the same light and settings?
