I have many Minolta cameras and lenses, manuals and accessories for sale. I am NOT a retailer, just a photographer/collector, I have several Maxxum 7000s (2 still in box), an X-700, a 5000i, some XDs, XGs, QTsi and SRTs, many lenses, AF MC, MD, etc. Motor drives and auto winders for many series. Leather cases. Please contact me if you are in need of any Minolta equipment. I may have it! Thanks

I was given the excellent Maxxum 7000 with two extra zoom lenses. I have used many good cameras over the years, but this is a fascinating one, and I love it. I have read the manual I found online, but I am confused about one thing.

Nothing is written about the two shutter release buttons, and I can't quite figure them out.

I am guessing the back one is for the AF mode, as when I hold it half way down, it does focus, and then when pressed all the way down, takes the picture.

So, what is the front button for? Just for Manual mode? In that mode, both still seem to work.

What's up?

I have a 7000i that I bought on ebay. there is a problem with the winding mechanism, in that it winds too many frames forward at once and sometimes just winds straight to the end (on my last film I only got 1 photo).

any ideas on how to fix. I took it to a camera repair shop and they said it would be cheaper to buy a new one than get if fixed. I think I might have a go at some DIY, but don't know where to start.

thanks for your help
