How much it cost to repair the lcd? anyone knows? Btw, i'm wondering how does the camera determines the picture is over/under exposed? is there anyway to just show the ev value? i mean like digital cameras, they show the ev value instead of over exposed/under exposed..so if for example i took a picture of something black, ev value should be around -2.0ev, and what will the camera tell me? underexposed or correct exposure? (my lcd is broken so i can't check it now)

Thanks for any help =)

A repair shop in San Diego charged me about $200 to replace the LCD display in my Nikon F3. Can anyone tell me if this was fair market value for this repair? It seems like a lot of money. You are all welcome to check out my photos on my home page. Let me know what you think. Sincerely, Robert

With the shutter release on my F3P in locked position, the release button can still be depressed ever to slightly which is normal I guess. But what surprises me is that when I do that, the meter is activated. Now it that a special feature of the F3P or a fault on the lock ? Same thing happens when I press the battery check button on the attached MD4.

Hiya, It,s not really an end to film camera, even I,m going to purchase a D70 tomorrow, I think film camera still have value in em. Digital cameras still not able to produce the excellent result fr my film camera, image quality is poor than film, especially enlarge the photograph to a bigger size..unless ppl have deep pockets able to affort the digital system as the price of a Mercedes Benz!I won,t get rid of my F3 even I upgrade myself to digital, because it has lots of my childhood memories, and lots of things digital cameras cannot replace.

Anywaz, like to use this site to thx Bob again for being helpful, and I guess i should buy stuff from local business more often than the big nationwide camera chain^^ Kirk C

I have downloaded once from the link suggested, badly scanned effort but still, it is an orignal instruction manual for the F3. However, for those who are seriously thiniking of understanding the F3 in depth, I would suggest just read and consume from leonard's HTML work because it has many other NIkon F3's write-ups, additions of other related matters, graphic and pictorial links for you to understand the entire system as a whole, it makes the original Nikon's own version of manual pale in comparisons - these are things that the original DOESN'T / CANNOT provide (some probably are due to commercial reasons). Well, if someone at this stage still requires an instruction manul to refer in operating a simple SLR camera like the F3, I would assume you would also need to understand many other issues circulating the camera. Leo's site covers from start up to very advance sections and I think it is a pretty good stuffs built on there. lastly, it is entirely up to individual preferences, and it is just a suggestion.
