Keith, Hiya, I,m happy w/my AI lenses because of the contrast and colour dinfinition they produce. I understand the series E lenses are cheaper than the AI lenses, but the material wise are more plastic than the both AI and AIS series. U might like to try them both out and compare(^_^) takecare, Kirk C

Hallo, I'm buying my 1st F3 (F3HP) after many years with an EL and have one on approval for 30 days. Lovely camera to use and appears to be working ok. The body is in good condition (ser 16#####)with very few scratches. However I'm concerned about white markings/stains on the rubber (seals?) located at the bottom of each side of the viewfinder. My 1st thought was that the camera had been submerged in water but there is nothing to indicate this elsewhere including under the viewfinder. Also the rubber is becoming detached at the front - next to the red button for the LCD light. Anybody got any ideas as to what might have caused the white marks? Should I reject this particular body because of it? Also is the rubber a vital seal and therefore need repairing as soon as possible? Thanks for any help.

Thought F3 fans might be interested -- the rare F3 with digital back by Kodak appears to be for sale on EBAY. Check it out, it is item number 3869617691. Try this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3869617691 I have no connection with the seller and have no intention -- nor budget -- to buy this myself.

Re: The zoom-nikkor-c lens not fitting. I figured it out. The tab at the top retracts upward if you depress the small button next to the tab... but you probably already knew this. I wish there was a way to lock the camera in the stop down position like my old Canon ftb. Oh well, you can't have everything...

I have a F3/T. I just bought a zoom-nikkor-C F=80-200. It is a non ai lens. Everything I read about non ai lenses said that they would fit on an F3 but had to be used in the stop down mode. This lens will not mount on my F3. The tab at the top prevents the lens from fully seating in the opening... Any solution? Thanks
