I need to find the small plastic flash-cord hole cover, for the front of my F3HP. Does anyone know what part number, where I can buy one, and how much they cost? TIA

Steve, only the AS-7 will allow flash on the F3 without the hassle of removing the unit to load / unload film. Yes, it is troublesome, but I read Nikon had to design it such because the ordinary DE-2 / DE-3 prisms may not be sturdy enough to hold a flash on it...until they started using titanium for the DE-4 on F3P. Furthermore with the hotshoe at the side, the flash facility will be availble no matter what finders you use such as the DW-3 waist level etc.

Another quick question regarding flash photography. I use an sb24 with my F90 I would like to use this flash on my F3. I know this is possible with the new adaptor but would it also be possible to buy a prism for the F3P and use it on my normal F3

I'm very happy to find this site. It has great information. Keep up the good work. I've been using the F3 with MD4 for 5 years now. I bought it second hand when I started my studies. It never let me down. I have one question. Is there a way to reload film without taking of the SB17. It's soo unpractical when on the move.

The easiest way to tell the F3HP from the F3 is by the prism. In fact, that's the only difference. The HP's prism is taller and has the letters HP on the front low on the right side looking at the front of the prism. Other than that, they're identical. Walt McKinney
