Thanks to Mr. Hannu Ylioja. He has mailed me some GREAT images of the Vivitar F3 Flash coupler for the Nikon F3. I have updated it to the flash section. http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf3ver2/flash/index.htm

Edgar, That's about what this equipment would sell for in the used market. You're not getting a bargain, but it looks like a fair price. Walt

Derek, Nikon does not publish data which would directly co-relate serial number to a manufacturing date, however, there has been a list assembled of serial number versus date of sale, which will provide an estimate of the date of manufacture, allowing for time on dealer's shelves, import time, etc. Based on that list, your camera was probably manufacturered in late 1984 or early 1985. This is assuming your camera is a non-HP F3. Regards, Walt

Shannon, There is a small lever at the base of the back-release knob that must be pushed toward the prism to release the knob so it can be pulled up. Walt

hey i just inherited an old nikon and i'm trying to open the back but for some reason the release nob will not pull up! i've given it a few good tugs and it will not budge. i don't think there is any other latch that requires release to get this thing open. should i get the camera looked at? or am i just missing something? thanks

I need to know how to change the foam in the camera, both on top of the reflective mirror in the front and around the rim of the cover in the back. Any advice would be appreciated
