thnaks for the info. Just happened to see 3 others today, one in the 12##### range, 16##### the other in 18##### range. Man, did these look poor. Tomorrow is the day to check on the one below.

To Dokitoedele: The 162#### serial block should not be a problem, as long as it had been carefuly handled in the past and the necessary seals changed if required. Only the earliest blocks (12#####) have a problem with the exposure memory lock button with are prone to dislodge itself and get lost along the way! Some postings suggest that the last serial blocks (19#####) have quality issues, but they may be isolated cases. Two such cases are in the archives of past messages in this board.

I have a Nikon F3hp, and when shooting at high speeds, ie 1000 & 2000, I was getting a brighter patch in the centre, similar to vigneting. Apparently the shutter was dragging in the centre causing overexposure at these speeds. I had the shutter adjusted at a service center (twice) but the problem has re-occured. Does this usually indicate a need for a new shutter mechanism, and what is the approximate cost of this ? Thanks.

Macro photography question... i wish to shoot the metamorphsis of the monarch butterfly chrysalis. this incredible sequence can happen in a very brief time. my equipment is the nikon F3 w/105mm micro f2.8 using fuji velvia and sb-21 ring flash mounted for ttl. finally i wish to also mount the MD4 motor drive. how fast will the flash recycle - acutal frames per second with this set up? and one more question... is it ok to use the new rechargable Nickel-Metal-Hydride AA Batteries in the MD4? thanks for any help, marc forrest

G'day! I recently acquired an Oxberry Pro 3 camera (based on the Nikon F3) which looks similar to the Pro 5 variant illustrated but has 100 foot film magazines each side (Cool!). I bought it with the controller, etc and some hand-written instructions and everything seems to work fine, but it's obvious that this outfit can do far more than simply copy slides! I was wondering, therefore, whether anyone out there has a set of instructions for the Pro 3 or Pro 5, or can point me to a source for this information? If so, please email me at hasselblad@ozemail.com.au Many thanks; Dave

To JC, The sound you mention is normal.I do hear a very, very faint 'bzzzz' sound at slower speeds, probably due to its timing mechanism. It stops when the shutter closes. Roz
